Daniel Hernandez is a policy communications professional with extensive experience in Texas government and politics. He most recently handled Legislative & Media Relations for Texas State Senator José Rodríguez, working for the people of Senate District 29, including his hometown of Marfa. He served as primary staffer for several key policy areas including water, agriculture, and environment, and led the senator’s media relations during the 2019 El Paso shooting.

Daniel began his career in public service a decade ago, working as a 911 operator before accepting an internship with former Congressman Pete P. Gallego. Since November 2013, Daniel has worked in state and local government, including as Director of Constituent Services for Texas State Representative Lina Ortega and Local Governments Coordinator at the Rio Grande Council of Governments. Daniel currently resides in Austin with his partner.
