Leslie Cory
Director
Leslie Cory is a communications director at Be Clear, where she helps mission-driven organizations figure out what they actually want to say – and how to say it in ways that resonate. Since joining the firm, her work has spanned message development, experimenting with new ways of reaching people, and rethinking how communication can build real connection (and not just visibility).
Before joining Be Clear, Leslie spent much of her career at the intersection of journalism, audience development, and community engagement, with work in newsrooms including the Guardian US, Los Angeles Times, Solutions Journalism Network, and Hartford Courant, as well as at UC Berkeley’s Investigative Reporting Program. She has also held roles in higher education and state government, including at Colorado State University and the Colorado Department of Human Services, where she focused on building trust and turning complex ideas into clear, compelling communication.
Leslie holds a master’s degree from UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree from UC Davis. Born and raised in California’s Central Valley, she spent more than a decade working across the U.S. and abroad before returning home, where she now lives with her dog, her cat, and a deep appreciation for good storytelling.
